Forty five ten at Hudson yards

ABOUT THE project

Forty Five Ten, a designer boutique known for its ability to merge art and fashion, opened a New York retail space at Hudson Yards.  As part of the fit-out, we were asked to create a fully modular clothes-hanging system that could be completely reconfigured at various points throughout the year.  We created our Hex Hanging System in response: a minimal, fully demountable clothing display that adapts to the store’s inventory and design. Ceiling-mounted “pucks” occur at every node throughout the space, creating an array of points from which the clothing racks can hang. Vertical metal bars emerge down from these points, followed by horizontal hexagonal hang-bars.  Glass shelves supported by T-shaped brackets can attach to any of the vertical hangers, providing a clean and simple display space for handbags and other accessories.  In addition to the metal clothing racks, we provided the hanging system for several large suspended mirrors, sunglasses display cases, metal floor trays, and fitting room rods.
