long island city APARTMENT
ABOUT THE project
The interior design of this Queens one-bedroom apartment began with a triptych by the printmaker Greg Stone. The vibrant, multi-color background and intricately rendered linework of this art piece became the inspiration for a contemporary apartment with classic elements. Lavender-gray velvet upholstery, charocoal-painted walls, and a thick, textured rug provide a neutral backdrop for the artwork and other accent pieces that pick up on its fluorescent color scheme: bright yellow velvet pillows and an orange modern-grandfather clock. In the bedroom, we created a subdued black-and-white color palette with contemporary quilted bedding and dark metal geometric headboard.
